Just:: Health Communications has hired Kirsty Mearns as MD to lead its senior management team. Kirsty joins from InVentiv Health’s medical education house, Litmus, where she was a member of the leadership team.

At Just:: Kirsty will lead a five-strong team of directors, as well as heading the agency’s medical education offer, which currently accounts for 20% of agency business. She will be supported by Jo Hewitt who will work closely with Mearns on the expansion of the medical education capability.

Mearns comments, “I am delighted to be joining Just:: at such an exciting time. With the strength of the senior management team we are well positioned to build on the successes of 2013 and expand across all segments of the business.”

Kirsty’s hire completes the installation of a senior team that reflects the strength and diversity of the agency’s integrated communications expertise.  Catherine Barnett, was recently hired as a director with a focus on global stakeholder engagement.

Just:: also promotes Jon Spiers who leads the agency’s political relations team.  The promotion of Spiers recognises the growth of the company’s political relations business; from a standing start in 2011, to 12% of agency business in 2013.

Other directors are Laura Chambers, who is head of UK PR and Julia Kirby who has been instrumental in driving the growth of Just::’s global business.

Just:: Health Communications was founded in February 2006 by Emma Crozier and Jennie Talman.  Commenting on the changes, Crozier said, “We have a dynamic leadership team powered to deliver the fresh thinking and insight-driven campaigns we are well known for across a broader range of disciplines. We believe we are only one of a few healthcare agencies capable of delivering such an effectively integrated approach.”
