Using our braaaaaains for business

Business continuity is one of those management tasks which all too often falls into the “important but dull” category. As business leaders, we all know that having a robust plan to keep our company going in the event of an emergency is critical but it’s hard to get a sense of energy and excitement around your preparations.

That’s why we recently unleashed a zombie apocalypse on our Senior Management Team. Trapped in our Putney office with only 30 minutes until the ravenous hordes of zombies reached our door, we had to decide how we would ensure our people’s safety, where we would send them, what we’d tell our clients and how we would maintain client service despite the growing undead menace.

It was an opportunity to stress-test our Business Continuity Plan in a fun but compelling way, pointing out flaws and gaps in the current plan and roleplaying some tough decision making under pressure.

The team was even visited by a couple of local zombies mid-scenario to keep them on their toes!

Of course, SW18 tends not to see the dead rising from their graves to feed upon the living, but a good Business Continuity Plan should work just as well in a zombie apocalypse as it would in a flood, pandemic or power cut.

At Just:: we pride ourselves on our fresh approach to problem solving and this applies just as much internally as it does with our client work.
